Category Manager(Remote) The purpose of this job is to manage the supply chain for operations services, specifically utility electric and gas operations. This position manages competitive bid events, conducts negotiations, performs market/price/financial analysis, develops supplier relationships, tracks and manages supplier performance, reports cost savings, and drives continuous improvement and productivity with suppliers and customers. This position requires an experienced professional that works independently with minimal supervision and may provide guidance and direction to other Client employees in support of high quality, timely and cost-effective resource acquisition activities. Primary responsibilities include developing negotiation strategies and company positions on complex contracts, performing market and financial analysis to determine business risk associated with a supplier or contract, establishing or maintaining professional relationships with suppliers or partners, being the corporate expert for assigned operations services categories, and acting as the primary liaison to suppliers within assigned categories. Basic qualifications include a bachelor's degree in business, engineering, supply chain, or related field, a minimum of five years of operations services buying experience, market knowledge of gas/electric utility products, equipment, and services, and basic knowledge of business law, commercial terms and conditions, and related legal issues.
