Certified Ambulance Coder (Remote 1099 Contract)
Certified Ambulance Medical Coder (Remote Contract Position) About ELS Medical Billing Group, LLC ELS Medical Billing Group, LLC is a certified SBA Women-Owned Small Business (WOSB) and HUBZone-certified healthcare services company specializing in EMS billing, medical billing, medical coding, provider enrollment, credentialing, and revenue cycle management services nationwide. We are currently expanding our healthcare staffing network and seeking experienced Certified Ambulance Medical Coders for upcoming client opportunities. This is a remote independent contractor (1099) position and candidates will be considered for current and future assignments based on client needs.
Responsibilities
- Review ambulance patient care reports (PCRs) and related documentation for coding accuracy.
- Assign appropriate ICD-10-CM, HCPCS, CPT, and ambulance transport codes.
- Ensure compliance with Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial payer billing guidelines.
- Identify documentation deficiencies and communicate findings when necessary.
- Maintain productivity and quality standards while meeting client deadlines.
- Utilize billing and coding software platforms as required by client assignments.
- Support clean claim submission and reimbursement efforts through accurate coding practices.
Minimum Qualifications
- Certified Ambulance Coder (CAC) preferred.
- CPC, CCS-P, CPB, or equivalent coding certification may be considered with EMS billing experience.
- Minimum one year of EMS or ambulance coding experience preferred.
- Knowledge of Medicare ambulance billing regulations.
- Experience reviewing ePCR documentation.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
- Reliable internet connection and secure home office environment.
