CloudOps Engineer - 3rd Shift
Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Cloud Operations Engineer to support a premier software, research, and consulting organization specializing in cutting‑edge industrial‑organizational psychology solutions. This position is a fully remote position. The Cloud Operations Engineer will design, deploy, and maintain secure AWS cloud environments while supporting mission‑critical infrastructure. Join a team that is advancing human capital solutions through top-tier technology and behavioral science research. Responsibilities for the Cloud Operations Engineer include:
- Designing, deploying, and managing AWS cloud solutions using automation and configuration-as-code
- Implementing fully automated infrastructure, system configurations, and application deployments
- Conducting security reviews, addressing scan findings, and applying patches and upgrades
- Monitoring system and application availability and supporting issue resolution
- Automating ongoing operations and maintenance tasks
Required Qualifications for the Cloud Operations Engineer include:
- 5+ years of experience with system administration of RPM-based Linux (Amazon Linux, RHEL, CentOS)
- 3+ years of AWS automation experience (VPC, EC2, S3, CloudFormation, etc.)
- Experience with CloudFormation or Terraform for automated deployments
- Experience with shell scripting
- Experience with CIS, STIG, or NIST 800-53 security standards and audit remediation
- Experience with version control and CI/CD pipelines
- Bachelor’s degree
- Ability to obtain and maintain a government issued security clearance
Compensation for the Cloud Operations Engineer includes:
- Salary Range: $100,000-$115,000 depending on experience
