Freelance WordPress Developer (Independent Contractor | As-Needed) Bodecker Foundation is seeking a reliable, skilled Freelance WordPress Developer to provide independent, contract-based support on an as-needed basis. This is not a staff position. We’re looking for a contractor we can call on for periodic website upkeep, troubleshooting, and small-to-medium development projects as they arise. Our website plays a key role in sharing opportunities with young artists, educators, and community partners. We value thoughtful design, accessibility, and functionality. Scope of Work
- Ongoing maintenance of our WordPress site, including updates, security checks, and performance improvements
- Customization of WordPress themes and plugins as needed
- Troubleshooting bugs, broken links, and technical issues
- Implementing responsive design best practices across devices
- Optimizing site speed, caching, and database performance
- Integrating third-party tools or services (forms, APIs, event tools, etc.) when required

- Proven experience developing and maintaining WordPress websites
- Strong working knowledge of PHP, HTML, CSS (SCSS), and JavaScript
- Familiarity with databases such as MySQL
- Comfortable working independently and managing tasks without close supervision
- Clear communicator with strong time management skills
- Experience working with nonprofits, arts organizations, or small teams is a plus Engagement Details
