Network Security Engineer - Work from home

Senior Network Security EngineerWe are currently seeking a Senior Network Security Engineer within the Security Architecture and Engineering team, part of our client's Technology Information Security organization. The role focuses on complex, enterprise-level security and networking projects, applying security governance and managing firewall policies and configurations for a small team of three members.ResponsibilitiesEvaluate incoming firewall rule requests, perform risk assessments, and compare policies against internal standards and frameworks such as CIS and NIST 800-53 to ensure compliance before approving them.Coaching stakeholders on why certain protocols are non-compliant and providing guidance on policy adherence.Handle business exception requests for firewall policies and maintain accurate documentation of approved exceptions.Ensure baseline firewall configurations remain compliant, monitoring and maintaining configuration integrity across the environment.Implement continuous monitoring for security baselines, including automation with tools such as Firemon and Skybox.Assist with domain whitelisting using Cisco Umbrella and support URL whitelisting via web proxy solutions.Develop custom policy sets within NScope to meet evolving security requirements.Required SkillsNetwork security and information security fundamentals.Experience with Palo Alto firewalls and general firewall administration.Knowledge of CIS and NIST 800-53 frameworks.Proficiency in scripting or Python for automation tasks.Prior experience with Cisco networking products is preferred.Financial services industry experience is preferred.Experience LevelExpert levelAbout TEKsystemsWe're partners in transformation.
