[Remote] Associate Product Manager
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Financial Cents is a rapidly growing software company focused on transforming how accounting firms operate. They are seeking an Associate Product Manager to manage small product projects from discovery to launch, collaborating closely with various teams to shape the product roadmap and ensure successful project execution.
Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end projects from discovery through launch. Recent examples of the scope we’d hand you: Project Template Categories, Bulk Actions on Tasks, and Workflow Automations (Edit Emails and Create Project Details)
- Run discovery and shape the roadmap. Run user interviews, synthesize findings, and bring evidence-backed recommendations to roadmap meetings alongside the PM, CTO, and CEO
- Write PRDs and story tickets that give engineering what they need to build confidently, using our Claude skills as a starting point and your judgment as the final filter
- Own launch communications: weekly internal release notes, public Canny changelog posts, and internal tutorials or training for new features
- Keep the backlog healthy by shaping small, well-defined, unambiguous issues as you go
Skills
- 1-3 years of product management or product owner experience at a SaaS company
- Strong discovery instinct. You ask 'why' before 'what,' and you know the difference between a user's stated request and their actual problem
- A sharp eye for usability. You flag when something is unnecessarily complex and push for solutions that are simple and immediately understandable to end users
- Exceptional written communication. You write tickets, PRDs, and copy people actually want to read, and you can recognize when an AI-generated draft is technically structured but substantively weak and rewrite it accordingly
- Experience in accounting or tax SaaS
