[Remote] Senior Accountant

Confidential Careers is seeking a Senior Accountant to support nonprofit and mission-driven clients by leading month-end close, maintaining accurate financials, and delivering insightful reporting. This role is a key link between day-to-day accounting operations and Controller-level oversight.
Responsibilities
- Lead month-end and year-end close processes
- Prepare financial statements, reconciliations, and journal entries
- Support audits, compliance, and grant/reporting requirements
- Partner with Controllers on reporting, analysis, and client deliverables
- Identify process improvements and strengthen internal controls
Skills
- 3–5+ years of accounting experience (nonprofit preferred)
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and fund accounting
- Proficiency in QuickBooks Online (or similar) and Excel
- Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple clients independently
