[Remote] Senior Data Engineer
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. TJFACT is a minority-owned, Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business providing professional services to U.S. government agencies. They are seeking a Senior Data Engineer to support the IRS's Enterprise Data Platform, focusing on the design, implementation, and optimization of data solutions using Databricks and AWS.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the Databricks Subject Matter Expert supporting the IRS Enterprise Data Platform
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable data engineering solutions utilizing Databricks and AWS technologies
- Lead Databricks workspace architecture, governance, security, and performance optimization efforts
- Develop and optimize data pipelines, ingestion processes, and transformation workflows supporting enterprise analytics and operations
- Ensure secure integration between Databricks and AWS services in accordance with established security and governance requirements
- Organize, direct, and manage multiple, complex, and interrelated application development and testing activities
- Coordinate technical activities and maintain ongoing collaboration with Government technical leads throughout the IT lifecycle
- Ensure technical quality across engineering deliverables and provide operational support during normal business hours
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
- Minimum of eight (8) years of experience supporting cloud technologies and enterprise data solutions
- Minimum of three (3) to five (5) years of hands-on Databricks experience
- Strong experience in Amazon AWS Cloud technologies and/or Databricks technologies
- Experience organizing, directing, and managing multiple, complex, and interrelated application development and testing tasks
- Demonstrated ability to ensure technical quality and coordinate with Government technical leads throughout information technology activities
- Availability to support operations during normal hours of operation throughout the period of performance
- Advanced Cloud and/or advanced Databricks certifications maintained in good standing at the time of contract award and throughout the period of performance
- Experience implementing Databricks governance and Lakehouse architecture best practices
- Experience supporting Federal IT initiatives, preferably within Treasury or IRS
