[Remote] Senior Oracle Database Administrator

Veracity Engineering is seeking a highly skilled Senior Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) with PL/SQL development expertise to support mission-critical systems within a secure, cloud-enabled environment. The role involves maintaining and modernizing Oracle database environments, focusing on database architecture, performance optimization, and advanced data solutions for enterprise applications.
Responsibilities
- Administer, monitor, and maintain Oracle databases in production and non-production environments
- Design, develop, and optimize PL/SQL packages, procedures, functions, and triggers
- Perform database performance tuning, query optimization, and indexing strategies
- Manage backup, recovery, and disaster recovery processes
- Support database deployments, Critical Patch Updates (CPUs), and upgrades
- Ensure data integrity, security, and compliance with federal standards
- Collaborate with developers, system engineers, and stakeholders on data solutions
- Troubleshoot complex database issues and provide root cause analysis
- Support API integrations and data pipelines (RESTful services, ETL processes)
- Maintain database documentation, data models, and data dictionaries
Skills
- 8+ years of experience as an Oracle DBA
- Advanced proficiency in PL/SQL development and performance tuning
- Strong experience with Oracle 12c/19c (or later)
- Experience with RMAN, Data Guard, and Oracle Enterprise Manager
- Solid understanding of database security, roles, and access controls
- Experience supporting high-availability and mission-critical systems
- Familiarity with Linux/Unix environments
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
- Experience with Oracle Cloud (OCI) or AWS RDS for Oracle
- Knowledge of REST APIs and integration with backend systems
- Experience with data modeling and ERD development
- Familiarity with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and automation
- Experience in federal or regulated environments (FAA, DoD, etc.)
- Understanding of Zero Trust architecture and cybersecurity frameworks
- Experience with Spring Boot or Java-based data services
- Exposure to data analytics or AI/ML pipelines
- Familiarity with Postman or API testing tools (or FAA-approved equivalents)
