[Remote] Senior Software Engineer (Java / AI-Native Development)

Confidential is a growing healthcare technology company building a new onshore engineering team, seeking a Senior Software Engineer to drive the next generation of platform development. This role focuses on designing scalable SaaS applications and leveraging AI tools to enhance software development practices.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable Java-based applications
- Build and enhance multi-tenant SaaS platform capabilities
- Develop APIs, backend services, and cloud-native solutions
- Collaborate with product and engineering teams on new platform initiatives
- Utilize AI-assisted development tools and modern engineering practices to improve productivity and code quality
- Contribute to architecture, technical design, and best practices across the engineering organization
Skills
- 5+ years of software engineering experience
- Strong Java and Spring Boot experience
- Experience building and supporting SaaS applications
- Experience working within multi-tenant environments
- Strong understanding of APIs, microservices, and distributed systems
- Experience working in cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
- Interest in and practical use of AI-assisted development tools
- React or TypeScript experience
- Healthcare technology experience
- Experience with FHIR, HL7, or healthcare interoperability
- Experience with Claude, Cursor, Copilot, or similar AI coding tools
