[Remote] Software Engineer, Full Stack

They are seeking a Software Engineer to support the Department of Veterans Affairs in modernizing their eligibility and enrollment systems, which will benefit millions of Veterans and their families.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and partners to ship new systems and features
- Maintain legacy systems
- Follow and influence standards for clean, maintainable, efficient code and processes
- Conduct design and code reviews to ensure the quality of the codebase
- Troubleshoot and debug complex software issues
- Assist with pitches and proposals to prospective clients, showcasing MO’s technical capabilities and solutions
Skills
- 2-5 years experience as an engineering professional
- Implement complex software, scope projects, and lead productive code and design reviews
- Experience with technologies such as TypeScript, Next.js, Java 17+, Spring Boot, AWS, Bash, Github Actions, test automation, and relational databases
- Experience with accessibility, privacy, security, monitoring, and writing software that handles PII
- Ability to lead and mentor more junior engineers with empathy and support for their skills growth
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- VA experience preferred
