[Remote] Staff Data Scientist
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Assured is on a mission to modernize insurance, providing large insurers with software solutions to enhance claims processing. The Staff Data Scientist will collaborate with product managers and engineers to build machine learning systems that automate critical aspects of the claims lifecycle, focusing on improving decision-making and operational efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Design models and systems that help automate and optimize claims handling, including; Liability prediction, Fraud detection, Document & image understanding
- Partner with product and engineering teams to translate claims workflows into ML solutions
- Prototype production-ready models and data pipelines
- Dive deep on early stage products to scale product market fit
- Help shape the data science roadmap and architecture across Assured’s platform
Skills
- Experience as a Staff or Principal Engineer with a focus on data science, machine learning, or applied AI
- Experience deploying production ML systems
- Strong skills in: Python, SQL, ML frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow, XGBoost, etc.), and modern data platforms (Snowflake, Spark, etc.)
- Experience working with structured and unstructured data
- Ability to translate real-world business problems into ML solutions
- Experience collaborating with product and engineering teams
- Experience building decision systems or automation platforms
