Senior Qa Engineer (Backend / Cloud) - Remote
We're looking for a Senior QA Automation Engineer to help scale and improve quality across high-impact media / streaming platforms. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys building automation frameworks from scratch, improving QA processes, and working closely with engineering teams in fast-paced environments. - Design, build, and maintain robust test automation frameworks (Cypress, Playwright, or similar)
- Drive QA strategy and best practices across teams
- Own and improve test coverage for web and API layers
- Work closely with engineering and product to ensure high-quality releases
- Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated testing
- Contribute to documentation and QA processes
- Mentor other QA engineers and promote a quality-first mindset
- Test and validate media / streaming workflows (e.G., playback, ads, content delivery, user flows)
What we're looking for
- 5+ years of experience in QA Automation / SDET roles
- Strong experience with:
- Cypress, Playwright, Selenium, or similar
- API testing (REST, authentication, etc.)
- CI/CD tools (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, etc.)
- Experience building automation frameworks from scratch
- Solid understanding of test architecture and best practices
- Experience working in monorepo environments is a plus
- Strong communication and ownership mindset
Nice to have
- Experience in media / streaming platforms (highly preferred)
- OTT, video-on-demand, live streaming, or ad-supported platforms
- Experience testing:
- Video playback (HLS, DASH)
- DRM-protected content
- Ad insertion (client-side or server-side)
- Experience with Connected TV (CTV), Smart TVs, or mobile streaming apps
- Exposure to performance or load testing in media environments
