Tax Accountant- Contract

Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Tax Accountant to help with a range of different clients currently on extension. The ideal canditate will have 1-2+ years tax preparation experience, be able to handle and manage their workflow under the supervision of the firm owner (who is also a CPA) for clients serviced. This will not be a client facing role and can be done remotely but the candidate must be able to work on site at times for live trainings and meetings. Duties

• Prepare individual and business related tax returns for a range of clients.
• Prepare client workpapers in excel.
• Organize all client file folders as information is provided for each engagement.
• Applying basic to Intermediate understanding of tax laws and/or forms.
• Handling monthly accounting/bookkeeping work for clients.
• Assist with attestation work, as needed.

Skills

• Proficiency in QuickBooks, Microsoft 365 and Adobe PDF.
• Basic to intermediate understanding of Individual and Business tax law and forms.
• Experience reviewing business fianancial statements and preparing client workpapers in excel.
• Strong attention to detail with a commitment to maintaining high standards of accuracy in all tasks
• Experience using Lacerte or Intuit Proconnect tax preparation software is a plus.
• Experience assisting with Review or Compilations a plus.

Pay: $25.00 - $45.00 per hour
